CETECOM Inc. Adds EAP-AKA and EAP-FAST to its Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Portfolio
May 19, 2009: Milpitas, CA
CETECOM Inc. has been authorized by the Wi-Fi Alliance® to offer testing for two additional Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) methods: EAP Authentication Key Agreement (EAP-AKA) and EAP Flexible Authentication via Secure Tunneling (EAP-FAST). This provides both consumer and enterprise Wi-Fi® users more options in strategizing the security of their network.
Intended for 3G utilization, EAP-AKA uses a single user identifier for handoff between cellular and Wi-Fi networks. EAP-FAST utilizes multiple secure channels for verification. Both EAP types expand Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2®) Enterprise authentication methods from what was previously five to seven. The other EAP methods include: EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS/MSCHAPv2, PEAPv0/EAP-MSCHAPv2, PEAPv1/EAP-GTC and EAP-SIM.
CETECOM Inc. is a Wi-Fi Alliance Authorized Test Lab committed to offering its customers the newest certification programs and an up-to-date Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ testing portfolio.
