Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)
Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) testing involves measuring the magnetic and electric field produced by a phone to ensure it does not interfere with the sound quality of a hearing aid. Since digital wireless cell phones can interfere with hearing aids, the FCC has set certain requirements for the number of HAC phones manufacturers and network operators make available to the public.
CETECOM Inc. is set up to perform HAC testing for cell phones with a telecoil.
